Zayn Malik Returns to the Spotlight in New Interview
Zayn Malik is returning to the spotlight in a new interview with Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy. Malik talks about his time in One Direction, his new single "Love Like This," and why he decided to start opening up again.
After six years of avoiding the press, Zayn Malik is finally ready to open up. In a teaser clip for his upcoming interview on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Malik reveals why he decided to return to the limelight and what he's been up to since leaving One Direction.
Malik says that he felt "overexposed" during his time in the boy band and that he needed some time to "relax and have some private time out of the spotlight." He also says that he was tired of being typecast as the "mysterious one" in the group.
However, Malik says that his daughter, Khai, has given him the confidence to start opening up again. "Since I've had my daughter, the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example for her," he says. "I want her to look at me and be like, 'Yo, my dad's doing this!'"
In the teaser clip, Malik also talks about his new single, "Love Like This," which is set to be released on July 21. He says that the song is about "finding someone who makes you feel alive again."
Zayn Malik's Call Her Daddy interview will be available on Wednesday, July 12.
